Elly Yazdanpanah is a distinguished artist, researcher, and educator whose multifaceted career bridges innovative artistic practice and rigorous academic scholarship. Her creative journey began with a Bachelor of Arts in Carpet Design from Tabriz Art University in Iran, followed by a Master of Fine Arts in Painting from Sooreh Art University of Tehran. In her work, Dr. Yazdanpanah explores profound themes such as cultural identity, displacement, and the transformative power of public art, with a particular focus on the dynamic interplay between body, object, and space.

After immigrating to Canada, she pursued a Ph.D. in Art Education at Concordia University, where her exemplary academic record allowed her to fast-track from her Master’s studies. Her doctoral research critically examined diverse art practices within museum contexts and introduced innovative walking methodologies in arts-based research, merging theoretical inquiry with creative exploration.

Currently, Dr. Yazdanpanah is concluding her postdoctoral research at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver, Canada, where she is in her second year of this prestigious appointment. Her postdoctoral work continues to delve into the ecologies of sensible practice in artwork scholarship, further advancing her commitment to exploring the intersections of art, culture, and education. This research is supported by notable grant funding, including the New Frontiers in Research Fund.

Dr. Yazdanpanah has made significant contributions to her field through an extensive portfolio of peer-reviewed publications and influential book chapters, addressing various aspects of art education and practice. Her work is characterized by international collaborations and successful grant-funded projects, all of which underscore her commitment to fostering cross-cultural dialogue and advancing contemporary art discourse.
